Liz & Kerleem
A perfect January day at the Porcher House in Cocoa, Florida set the stage for a gorgeous wedding day filled with sentimental speeches, goofy friends, and heartfelt song (and, yes, even an a cappella performance!).
If there’s one look that says it all, it’s Kerleem’s face as Elizabeth snuck up behind him for a first look surprise. This is a couple that knows how to let loose and have fun, and, fittingly, their big day was all about bringing two huge families, two goofy groups of friends, and two crazy in love people together for a party that didn’t stop dancing until the lights came on.
Their Story Begins
Elizabeth and Kerleem first met back in 2015 when they both worked in IT at Siemens in Orlando and became fast friends (are you getting The Office vibes?!). Smiles shot from desk-to-desk eventually led to a first date where technology was working against them––the couple wasn’t receiving each other’s text messages and both initially thought the other had stood them up! Fortunately, that wasn’t 100% not the case and these two talked for hours that night...and for many after.
Fast forward to August 2017 and Kerleem’s birthday weekend. Elizabeth rented a fancy convertible to surprise him, but, little did she know, she was the one in for a real surprise. As the two zipped around town, Kerleem suggested they pause to take a stroll along the Siemens walking trail––something the couple did often during their early days of dating, sneaking moments away throughout the workday.
As they walked along the trail, reflecting on past memories, Kerleem dropped to one knee and popped the question. A shocked Elizabeth exclaimed “YES!!” and, that evening, he surprised her again as their closest friends and family came together for an engagement party.
The Big Day
A year and a half later, a forecast of rain and clouds held off, and Elizabeth and Kerleem celebrated their marriage on a sunny January day at the historic Porcher House in Cocoa, FL. With a classic winter palette of oxblood and champagne and a bridal gown that little girls’ dreams are made of (seriously, look at that tulle train and rhinestone illusion back!), this wedding was a serious stunner.
From the sentimental toasts to the delicious cupcake tower, from the bridesmaids’ pink balloon-filled morning to the Fermata Stars A Cappella group’s performance, Elizabeth and Kerleem created a day that was all about honoring who they are as a couple and bringing together generations of loved ones for a celebration they’ll never forget.
Liz is the creator and leader of the Fermata Stars A Capella Group, a high school singing group based out of the Cocoa Village Playhouse.
