For USC Trojan Marching Band-mates turned college sweethearts, Tracy and Greg, there was no doubt they’d revisit their old stomping grounds for their engagement photos. These two had a blast stealing smooches around every corner of the University of Southern California campus.

Tracy and Greg first met as college freshman in the USC Trojan Marching Band. Greg played trombone and Tracy the flute. But, their love story didn’t strike a chord until senior year when Greg began flirting with the cute blonde flutist during their weekly band leadership meetings. 

It wasn’t long before these two realized that their spark went far beyond that of friendly bandmates. The autumn of their senior year was soon filled with all the trappings of classic courtship –– dinner, movies, hikes, and finding adventure all over the City of Angels. 

Then, during a band trip to Chicago for the USC-Notre Dame football game in the fall of 2013, Tracy and Greg found an evening to sneak away from the group and explore the city––just the two of them. That night, under the glittering lights of Navy Pier, Greg asked Tracy to “go steady” with him. Yes, he’s 100% an old-fashioned gentleman and Tracy wouldn’t have it any other way!

Now, 5 years and a brief Midwest detour later, this Trojan couple has found themselves living back in SoCal. They’ve navigated the first years of adult life with laughter, goofy inside jokes, and an uncanny ability to cheer each other up no matter what comes their way. 

So, it’s no surprise that a romantic weekend getaway to San Francisco in 2018 had a sparkly ulterior motive. Under the guise of a hike to the top of Mount Tamalpais, Greg steered Tracy’s attention to a lookout point on the side of the mountain where he found the perfect moment to drop to one knee. A shocked Tracy burst into happy tears, dropped the ring, and still, somehow, managed to say, “YES!!!!”

These bubbly and adorable bandmates turned sweethearts had a ball canoodling all over the University of Southern California during their engagement shoot. There’s nothing easier to photograph than a couple that cracks each other up with every whisper...except maybe a couple revisiting the very spots where they first fell in love. 

I mean, seriously, how can you not get misty-eyed watching these two reminisce over those first days of young love while getting absolutely giddy over how far they’ve come?!

Pro tip: if you’re a couple planning your engagement shoot, don’t be afraid to bring outfit changes! We LOVED that Tracy and Greg brought multiple coordinated outfits––including their band jackets. Think about pieces or props that have meaning to you and your relationship. We’re happy to find a way to make it all work together, even if that means Allen is lugging a bag full of random items throughout our shoot just waiting for the perfect moment to bring them out!
